After Medium’s Spam Filter Suspended Me, I Never Thought I’d Be Back
The story begins a few days ago when I spent more time off Medium than usual. First I had the ‘fun’ of replacing my electric shower. Then I celebrated my birthday.
When I returned late Sunday, I saw around 500 notifications and wanted to clear the backlog before my summer holiday later this week.
I spent hours responding to notifications and reading stories I’d missed. Suddenly, a banner popped up:
Your account was found in violation of the Medium Rules. Learn more about reasons for suspension.
I sent a support request to Medium, asking what rule I had violated. This was their reply:
It looks like your Medium account was mistakenly caught in our spam filter. I have now restored your account and/or any affected post(s).
It was a huge relief to get my account back!
