It Is Nearly Time for Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference 2023

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) takes place next week, from Monday 5th June to Friday 9th June.
I’ve been reading some of the rumours and listening to podcasts about what might be unveiled, and I always look forward to it with a sense of excitement.
Although most of the videos are for developers, there are some with a wider audience. In particular, the opening video (the WWDC Keynote) is the one with the main announcements.
The Platform State of the Union video is another one I don’t want to miss, although it is more technical.
WWDC will be streamed live on YouTube. The start time is 6 pm UK time (10 am PT time).
The launch of an MR headset
The big story is that a Mixed Reality headset is anticipated, and it will probably be called Reality Pro. (Mixed Reality shows the real world with a digital overlay that can interact with real objects.)
It will likely cost thousands because it’s intended for developers and early adopters rather than being a mass-market product.
My only experience of anything remotely similar was when my son had an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset for a while. It was an interesting gadget to play with, but it was not comfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes, especially in warm weather.
MacBook Air 15" and other Mac updates
The thing I’m most interested in is the possible announcement of a new 15-inch MacBook Air.
I’m writing this on a 15-inch MacBook Pro that is ten years old. The new air might eventually become an affordable replacement for my current machine. (I buy used, so I may wait a while!)
It’s possible there will be other Mac updates and announcements. I think John Siracusa from the Accidental Tech Podcast would be thrilled if a new Mac Pro were unveiled. But nobody seems to know for sure.
