During the 1970s, my mum and eldest sister had a few rabbits over a period of years. I remember them running around in the back garden when I was playing outside.

I was a bit nervous around them and usually left others to care for them. But I do remember feeding strands of hay to them, and replenishing their water supply.

Sometimes they were kept in the garage, which I imagine was to protect them during colder weather.

They all had different temperaments and personalities. Some were gentle and docile, whereas others were a bit vicious. I remember how one of the nicer rabbits became ill and was outlived by a more aggressive one.

I don’t remember all the names. But I think one was Brownie and another was Iron Jaw, who had a habit of chewing through anything and everything!

I will leave you with a few more photos.
